# Checking Custom Hive Status After Maintenance

After maintenance is completed, please confirm that your Custom Hives are back up and running by checking the **Status** column in the **Hives** tab: ![Confirm Connected](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/ConfirmConnected%281%29.png)

If a Custom Hive isn't connected, perform the following steps:

1. On the machine where the Custom Hive is installed, open Windows Services.
2. Locate the service **Synthetic Monitoring Hive** and **Start** the service. ![Restart Services](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/Restart%20Services.png)

If the Custom Hive still isn't connected, contact [ControlUp Support](https://support.controlup.com/docs/ticket-deflector/ask-us-anything).
