# Cloud Hive Overview

Cloud Hives allow you to test publicly available resources from locations throughout the world. They are hosted and managed by Synthetic Monitoring, and require no configuration or set up.

## Control Access to Cloud Hives

Access to Cloud Hives can be controlled with Hive permissions. Users can view and assign only Cloud Hives within their **Read Hive** permission scope. For more information, see [Permissions Reference](/v1/docs/permissions-reference).

## Cloud Hive Information

To see the IP addresses for each Cloud Hive, visit [Cloud Locations Used by Synthetic Monitoring](https://support.controlup.com/tim-reorg/docs/cloud-locations-used-by-controlup-products#cloud-locations-used-by-scoutbees). If you restrict access to the resources you want to test, then you need to allow the Cloud Hives IPs to access those resources.
