# ControlUp Support to Monitor and Remediate Your ControlUp for VDI

ControlUp includes a setting enabling our support team to perform remediation and monitoring on your ControlUp for VDI implementation. The **Enable Automatic Monitor Remediation** setting is available in the DEX platform settings page under VDI and is enabled by default.

To access, go to your DEX platform **Settings** > **VDI**.

When enabled ControlUp support can perform remote actions on your monitors and agents. These include:

- Restarting services which is particularly useful for restarting monitors (the cuMonitor service on the monitor machine)
- Collecting diagnostic data such as:
  - Audit log changes
  - Memory dumps.

You can uncheck this option to opt out of this feature and disable remote actions by ControlUp.

> [!NOTE]
> Versions below 9.1.5
>
> This feature is enabled for versions 9.1.5 and higher.
>
> If you are running a lower version of ControlUp for VDI, you can use a PowerShell command to enable this capability. For details, see [PowerShell Cmdlets for Environment Configuration](/v1/docs/90-powershell-cmdlets#allow-remediation-actions). The new setting described in this article replaces that PowerShell command so it is no longer required in versions 9.1.5 and higher.
