# ControlUp for VDI Version Lifecycle Policy - Hybrid Cloud ONLY

This policy defines support and maintenance stages for ControlUp for VDI (RealTime DX) product components, including the ControlUp Monitor, Configuration Console, and ControlUp Agent. This policy ensures version transparency and keeps you on secure, high-performance builds of our product.

## Support Lifecycle Policy Tiers

ControlUp releases a new GA version approximately every quarter. When a new version releases, it becomes GA and the prior GA version moves to EOM (end of maintenance).

### General Availability (GA)

- **Status**: Live & current version
- **Scope**: R&D and technical support actively maintain this version.
- **Updates**: Include security patches, bug fixes, and new features via regular builds.

### GA-1: Entering End of Maintenance (EOM)

- **Status**: One version behind GA. Stable, legacy support.
- **Scope**: R&D and technical support fully support this version for troubleshooting and configuration assistance.
- **Updates**: No new features or development. Exception: ControlUp backports critical security patches including high or critical CVEs to this version throughout its period.

### GA-2 or GA-3: End of Support (EOS)

- **Status**: Two or three versions behind GA. **Retired**.
- **Scope**: ControlUp no longer services these versions.
- **Updates**: Customers must upgrade to GA or GA-1 before ControlUp processes any support tickets.

### GA-4 or lower: End of Functionality (EOF)

- **Status**: Four or more versions behind GA. **Decommissioned**.
- **Scope**: ControlUp backend cloud servers block data coming from components that are four versions behind the GA. These versions will stop communicating with the ControlUp backend.
- **No Updates exist. Customers must upgrade immediately to restore service.**

> [!NOTE]
> Current GA-4 Versions EOF Policy Effective Date
>
> The current G-4 versions are version 9.0 and lower. These versions will move into EOF decommissioned status as of **31 July 2026**.
