Create an API Key

In a ControlUp Hybrid Cloud environment, you can use API authentication tokens (API Keys) to authenticate to your VDI and DaaS organization.

You use our web UI (app.controlup.com) to generate an API Key. For example, to install a ControlUp Monitor or Agent on machines in your organization, you must provide the API Key that you create in the web UI.

Prerequisite

• The user must be assigned the Manage API Keys permission in the web UI.

To create an API Key:

1. Go to the web UI and register with an email.
2. Click your profile icon > API Key Management.
   
3. Click + Create new and configure the API Key as needed.
   
4. Click Create Api Key and copy it. You can now use it as an API token in your PowerShell commands.
