Agent Installation Overview

This article describes how to deploy the ControlUp for Desktops Agent.

Prerequisites

Before you deploy the Agent onto your devices, read the prerequisites for Agent deployment and make sure your environment is ready.

Download and install the Agent

To access the Agent downloads page, sign into ControlUp and go to Desktops > Configuration > Downloads.

Agent manager and version control

For Windows and macOS devices, you install an Agent Manager which installs the Agent according to your version control settings. By default, the Agent Manager installs the latest GA version of the Agent.

Agent distribution

To distribute the Agent, use any of the following methods:

• Distribute the Agent, tenant name, and device registration code through an internal file share solution.
• Distribute the Agent as an application, using a management solution such as Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager, or JAMF.
• Copy the Agent into a master image that is used to provision new devices for users.
