# How do I reset ControlUp Console to its factory default?

To reset your current user's ControlUp Console to the factory defaults, perform the following steps:

1. If your ControlUp Console is currently running, shut it down.
2. Delete or rename the ControlUp directory in your personal ***Application Data*** folder. To access this folder, click **Start** > **Run** and type **%appdata%**
3. Delete or rename the following registry key:  
**HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Smart-X\ControlUp**
4. Restart ControlUp

**Note**All of your user settings, saved credentials, and managed machine lists will be lost during this operation.
