# Insights Time Zone Settings

The first time you log into ControlUp Insights you are prompted to select your time zone. The time zone you select remains is applied to your user account by default, unless you manually change it, as explained below.

Note

Changing your time zone only affects the display you see when you are logged into ControlUp. Scheduled actions, like periodic data collection, continue to occur at the times they were previously scheduled to. In addition, if you export data to CSV files, the times always appear in UTC.

### Change Time Zone in Insights On-Premises (IOP)

1. In **Insights**, in the navigation menu, click **Settings**. ![Insights navigation menu showing Settings](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/IOPSettings.png)

2. Under the **User Management** section, in the row of your user name, click **Edit**. The **Edit User** dialog box opens, with the current time zone shown under **Time Zone**.![user name row showing Edit](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/IOPEdit.png)

3. From the dropdown list under **Time Zone**, select the new time zone and click **Submit**. The selected time zone is implemented. ![Time Zone showing submit button](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/IOPTimeZone.png)

NoteImplementation might not be immediate, because Insights doesn't necessarily update the data in its cache at the moment you change the time zone. In most cases, Insights caches data for five minutes, so the time zone change should be evident within five minutes. However, the Environment Assessment report caches data for five hours, so a time-zone change may take up to five hours to be implemented in that report.
