# Linux / Thin Client Agents

### Agent 2.17.5.6932 - September 14, 2025

#### Features

- **Customizable Agent performance thresholds**: The following Agent settings are now customizable in the [Extended Settings](/v1/docs/extended-settings) page:
  - CPU Idle Threshold: A device’s CPU is considered to be idle if it is below the set CPU usage percentage threshold. This affects the Run only when idle option for scripts.
  - Process Monitoring Threshold % (CPU) - Sets the CPU usage threshold for a process to be named in the CPU Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
  - Process Monitoring Threshold % (Memory) - Sets the Memory usage threshold for a process to be named in the Memory Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
- **Improved Ubuntu Shell experience** - We’ve introduced Cu4dShell to provide a better Remote Shell experience especially for Ubuntu platforms. The CTRL+C handling has been improved and flow control for long listings can now be aborted with this standard key combination.
- **Improved Remote Control security.**

#### Fixes

- When the [Remote Control floating notification icon option](/v1/docs/extended-settings#linux-only-enable-floating-remote-control-notification) was enabled, it was still possible to sometimes see the task tray icon after a device reboot.
- [Custom device locations](/v1/docs/extended-settings#custom-device-location-by-ip-range) weren’t immediately applied. Now, devices will appear at the custom location within a few minutes.
- Wi-Fi information such as SSID, signal strength, and frequency, were not always recorded.
- The `platform` field (for OS platform) was not recorded correctly in multiple data indexes.
- Fixed an issue causing details about processes with no friendly name to not be recorded and displayed correctly in widgets. If a process has no friendly name, the name now defaults to the executable name instead.
- Fixed an issue causing device battery health to always show 100%.
- For a device’s network usage, downloaded data was recorded as sent, and uploaded data was recorded as received. This is now fixed to record the correct direction of data transfer.

### Agent 2.17.0.6229 - May 25, 2025

#### New Features

- You can now replace the default tray icon notification for Remote Control sessions with a floating ControlUp logo using the [Extended Settings page](https://support.controlup.com/docs/extended-settings#linux-only-enable-floating-remote-control-notification).
- Added support for ControlUp for Apps for Linux operating systems.

#### Fixes

- Improved Remote Control reliability by fixing issues causing connection failures.
- Power events missing for some devices.
- Hardware CPU name missing for some devices.
- Latency targets [configured to use TCP protocol](https://support.controlup.com/docs/network-performance#configure-latency-targets) were using ICMP instead.

#### Known Issues

- In some cases the agent is not reporting application crashes correctly, leading to inconsistencies between various crash details reports, and employee experience scores being unaffected by crashes.
- Devices using a Wi-Fi connection are reported as having a wired connection.

### Agent 2.16.1.5491 - February 23, 2025

#### New features

- The Agent now collects data about all connected displays such as the resolution, orientation, rotation, interface type, serial number, etc. This information is in the new data index **Builtin_peripherals**. [Learn more](https://support.controlup.com/docs/peripherals).
- Updated the Agent to compile using .NET 8. Note that this is self-contained within the Agent and does not require you to update your devices to a specific version of .NET.

#### Fixes

- Customizing device geolocation by IP address range wasn’t working correctly. [Learn more](https://support.controlup.com/docs/extended-settings#custom-device-location-by-ip-range).

### Agent 2.15.0.4777 - October 13, 2024

#### New Features

- Remote Control and Remote Shadow sessions can now automatically reconnect in case of a network connection interruption or device reboot. Automatic reconnect after device reboot is currently in beta testing and supported only on Windows, and must be manually enabled. - More hardware model name information for Lenovo devices.
- Added Remote DX server-side DLLs for future product enhancements.

#### Fixes

- Incorrect system CPU calculation.
- Faster WebSocket connection after a network change or outage.
- Improved support for SUSE Enterprise Server.
- Very long process names are now truncated.
- Improved process friendly name detection.
- The user is not considered Idle during a video conference or other application that prevents system idle state.
- Fixed an issue that caused the Agent to download built-in scripts multiple times.
- Improved agent logging.
- Company name changed and icon updated for all agent components to ControlUp Technologies Ltd.
- Improvements update method for the UCC data capture dll.
- Improved reliability of Power Event capture.
