# Monitored VDI Data Overview

ControlUp for VDI gives your organization deep, real-time visibility into every layer of your environment. Each object type or resource, from hypervisor hosts to individual user sessions, is tracked through a dedicated view packed with performance counters and available actions, so your team can quickly spot and resolve issues.

Each view below refreshes on a three-second interval and surfaces the specific metrics, health indicators, and actions relevant to that object or resource.

## Supported Operating Systems

- **Windows**: Full support across all views and metrics described below. The primary supported platform for ControlUp for VDI.
- **Linux**: Supported on a limited, agentless basis via SSH. Coverage includes **Machines**, **Processes**, and **Logical Disks** metrics (including Linux-specific data such as process PID/PPID/niceness and per-disk inode counts), and **only** for specific supported Linux distributions. **Session**, **Application**, and **GPU**-level views **aren’t** supported.
- **Hypervisor and infrastructure-level views**: **Hosts**, **Datastores**, **NetScaler**, **Load Balancers**, **Gateways**, etc., are collected independently of guest OS, since this data comes from the hypervisor or network appliance rather than the guest machine.
