# Multi-Site Association Feature

You can use the ControlUp Real-Time DX Console to monitor multiple sites with multiple geographically distributed monitors.

For example, in Site 1, the data source being monitored is an ESXi Hypervisor. If the virtual machines running on this hypervisor are also being monitored in Site 2, you might encounter instances of redundant records. If you don't consolidate these records into a single entry, this might cause confusion and technical side-effects.

## Enable Multi-Site Association

1. Under the **Monitor Settings** > **Advanced Settings** > **Organization Mode**, select **Enable Multi-Site Association mode**. !['Organization mode' settings. The option 'Enable Multi-Site Association mode' is selected.](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/EnableMultiSite.png)
2. Confirm the message: ![Warning window containing the message 'Switching to multi-site association mode. Please ensure you have stable network connectivity between all sites'.](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/image-RU2M73WJ.png)

Important for Versions lower than 9.0

You can't use the Multi-Site Association Feature if you have [Multi-Tenancy mode](/tim-reorg/docs/controlup-for-multi-tenancy-environments) activated. Multi-Tenancy mode is only available for versions lower than 9.0.
