    Article Summary

    Edge DX is available to ControlUp Real-Time Console users through the Solve interface, or via direct access to Edge DX.

    The permissions an Edge DX user has to use the various tools and features in Edge DX is dictated by the role assigned to the Edge DX user. Role-Based Access in Edge DX is used for controlling permissions

    Role-based Access in Edge DX refers to the system according to which access to the features and settings in Edge DX is allowed to Edge DX users on the basis of the role assigned to them. based on their roles

    Permission settings for Edge DX are located under Configuration > Access Control for both types of access.

    The users listed under the heading Tenant Users have direct access to Edge DX.

    Click Add User to add an account for a user to have direct access to Edge DX.

    Permissions for Users Accessing Edge DX via Solve

    Under Configuration > Tenant Users, under the heading Solve Single Sign-On, there are two permission settings which pertain to users accessing Edge DX via Solve. These two settings are listed and explained in the table below:

    EveryoneWhen the Everyone setting is set to On, everyone accessing Edge DX from Solve is allowed Viewer permissions in Edge DX.
    Solve ManagersWhen the Solve Managers setting is set to On, Solve Managers accessing Edge DX from Solve are allowed Administrator (full access) permissions in Edge DX.

    Permissions for Users Accessing Edge DX Directly

    Under Configuration > Tenant Users, under the heading Tenant Users, is a list of users who have direct access to Edge DX. Each direct user's permissions in Edge DX is determined by their listed Role - either Viewer or Administrator.

    Click Add User to create an account for a user to sign into Edge DX directly. Select Viewer or Administrator to set the allowed permissions for the user.

    Access to Configuration Features in Edge DX

    All features in the Edge DX Configuration menu are accessible to Edge DX Administrators. Only a portion of the features in the Edge DX Configuration menu are accessible to Edge DX Viewers. See Configuration for an explanation of which configuration features are accessible to Edge DX users with Viewer permissions.
