# Unable to gain access to "computer.domain.com"

### The Issue:

You try to connect to a managed machine but receive an error - "Unable to gain access to the computer" ![Unable to gain access to the computer error message](https://cdn.document360.io/098100b7-b9da-4bea-b4b9-017140ab863e/Images/Documentation/en-usarticleattachments205268309image001.png)

### The Solution:

1. Check if the user who logged in to windows and launched ControlUp, is part of the administrators' group on the managed machine.
2. If you are using a non-admin user to launch ControlUp, you can go in the Console to settings -> [AD Connections](/tim-reorg/docs/ad-connections) and set an administrator user which the Console will use when it tries to connect to your managed machines.
3. It might be a DNS registration issue, verify the server DNS registration.
