    New Data Pipeline

This article covers this report as you see it from the new data pipeline. Some features described are visible only when viewing the new report format. For details, visit VDI and DaaS Reports.
You can view On-Premises reports and Top Insights reports only in legacy format.
The Host Trends report shows historical information about resource consumption trends for virtualization hosts by summarizing the performance metrics for different hosts over time. Using AI and machine learning, it can also provide predictive data on future usage.

Use this report to answer questions such as:

    • What was the average CPU utilization in the vSphere cluster this morning?
    • What was the peak I/O utilization of HOST05 yesterday?
    • Which VM was accountable for irregular RAM consumption on one of the hosts?

    Insights Reports
If you use Insights, the data is the same as what’s described here but we recommend you view reports in Solve or app.control.com.

    Report Functionality

The report provides the following functionalities:

    • Displays data in two views:

      • By host. View data for a specific host(s).
    • You can click a data point in the charts to view the minimum, average, and maximum values for each data series, and the host names of the top consumers.
    • You can click a host name to view data for the specific host on all the charts.
    • You can click a data series name on the bottom of the chart to highlight or toggle the series on the charts.

The report displays the following charts:

    • VM Count. The total number of running VMs on the selected hosts.
    • CPU Utilization. The average CPU utilization of the selected hosts.
    • Memory Utilization. The average memory utilization of the selected hosts.
    • I/O Utilization. The average I/O utilization of the selected hosts.
    • I/O Latency. The average datastore read and write I/O latency of the selected hosts.
    • Network Usage. The average sent and received Network Interface Card (NIC) usage of the selected hosts.
