Product areas that you can’t access are hidden from the left sidebar. This gives your staff a cleaner UI that shows only the products they’re authorized to use.
A product area is hidden based on:
Your organization’s license - If your organization isn’t licensed to use a product area, then it is hidden for all users (see exception note below).
Your ControlUp user’s RBAC - If a user doesn’t have any permissions related to a certain product area, then that product area is hidden for that user. For example, if a user doesn’t have any permissions from the Synthetic Monitoring permission category, then Synthetic Monitoring is hidden.
Exception
If you have the Manage Subscriptions permission (included in the default Admin role), you’ll still see all product areas even if you don’t have a valid license. This allows you to start a trial for those products.
