We are pleased to introduce our new ControlUp DX mobile app that allows you to receive alerts to your smartphone. When you create or configure a trigger in your ControlUp environment, you can set the follow-up action Send a mobile push notification which sends alerts to activated users in your ControlUp Organization if the trigger is fired.

Prerequisites

  • iOS: Version 12.x or higher (no minimum version for Android)

In the next section, we show you how to create a trigger that sends a mobile push notification.

Create your first mobile alert

In this section, we show you how to configure a trigger that, once fired, sends a mobile push notification to your smartphone. In our example, we use the Computers in High Stress trigger which should already be configured in your ControlUp organization.

To configure a mobile alert for the Computers in High Stress trigger:

  1. In the Home ribbon of the ControlUp Real-Time Console, click Triggers. The Trigger Settings window appears

  2. Navigate to the Computers in High Stress trigger and select the Mobile checkbox, as shown below. The Follow-up Action wizard opens

  3. You can add organization users to the right-side list by clicking the Add button. If you want to add multiple users to the list, keep the CTRL key pressed, select users to which the push notification should be sent and click Add. Once you selected the users, click OK to save the follow-up action

  4. In the Edit Incident Trigger window, the follow-up action is shown. Click Next to save the trigger configuration

  5. Make sure that the Mobile and Enabled checkboxes are checked. Click Apply and then OK to apply your changes

  6. Now it is time to fire the trigger. Make sure you have a machine that meets the trigger conditions which in our case is the Stress Level "High" or "Critical"

  7. After a few seconds, the notification is sent to the mobile phone with the information that the machine entered the stress level High. When you open the app, the alert is displayed in the alerts list
