If your physical devices are using a VPN such as Zscaler, you might encounter an issue where ControlUp shows the IP address from the VPN instead of the real public IP address and ISP information for the device.
To fix this issue, you can configure your VPN client to bypass the following URLs used by ControlUp.
- <tenant-name>.sip.controlup.com
- edgedx-functions.azurewebsites.net
- downloads.sip.controlup.com
- maps.google.com
For Zscaler, the setting you need to change is called Hostname or IP Address Bypass for VPN Gateway. Read the ZScaler documentation to learn how to bypass URLs.
Tenant name
In the first URL listed above, replace <tenant-name> with the name of your tenant. You can find your full tenant name by going to the Agent downloads page.
