    SOP Server Upgrade

Upgrading your SOP server to the latest versions consists of different steps. First, you need to back up configuration data from your old SOP server and then you need to install a new SOP appliance with the same configuration as your old SOP server.

    1. Back Up Your SOP Configuration

To create a backup of the internal SOP database, click the Backup button under the Configuration Backup & Restore section in the SOP settings. This creates a backup.tar file that you can restore after you installed the new SOP server.

    2. Back Up the SSL Certificate

If you're using custom SSL certificates, we recommend backing them up.
Click Export Certificate in the SOP menu. The certificates will be saved in a zip file.

    3. Stop the SOP server

Now that you backed up your configuration, power off your SOP server in vCenter.

    4. Install a new SOP server

Once your SOP server is powered off, you can start installing a new SOP server. Refer to the Solve On-Premises Installation guide to learn more. During the OVA deployment, use the same network information or passwords as you used during the SOP server installation.

    5. Restore the configuration and SSL certificates

As soon as you have installed your new SOP server, import the configuration file that you backed up in Step 1 and, if applicable, the SSL certificates that you backed up in Step 2. You can restore those files in the corresponding sections in the SOP settings.
