The following section describes monitor features only available in ControlUp Real-Time DX version 9.2 beta. To try them, join our beta program.
From version 9.2, you can proactively diagnose and resolve Citrix VDA registration issues with Registration State Monitoring and Remediation, reducing downtime and improving user experience. Unregistered VDAs can disrupt user sessions and create troubleshooting headaches. Citrix Registration State Monitoring and Remediation gives you real‑time visibility, automated incident tracking, and targeted remediation so your Citrix environment stays reliable and resilient—on‑premises (CVAD) and in Citrix Cloud (DaaS).
By surfacing failure details instantly, you can resolve issues faster, minimize user frustration, and keep your Citrix environment running smoothly.
Prerequisites
For CVAD environments: Citrix oData Monitor API version 3 or later.
For Citrix Cloud environments: supported natively
Reporting & Drill‑downs
To view metrics for Registration State Monitoring and Remediation:
From the VDI App Details view, select Citrix Sites > Delivery Groups or Brokers.
From the Overview tab, drilldown to:

Full event payloads are preserved for deep‑dive analysis and auditing.
Incident Creation & Monitoring Workflow
Background job (enabled by the Citrix Incident Manager role) runs every 5 seconds to detect new Registration Failure Events and Incidents.
Event detection & enrichment: New events are enriched with VDA machine details and persisted in the GlobalRegistrationFailureEvents table.
Incident generation: The system creates corresponding Registration Failure Incidents (stored in the RegistrationFailureIncidents table) via an event‑pairing workflow.
Action & remediation:
Run PowerShell remediation scripts directly on affected VDAs/DDCs.
Configure automatic actions driven by incident properties (e.g., reason codes, catalog/group/site) to shorten MTTR.
Visibility & reporting: Drilldown into Registration Failure Events, Registration Failures, or Connection Failures tab.
Note: The Citrix Incident Manager role must be configured in the monitor cluster for this feature to work.
Data & Metrics captured
Event‑level metrics: Parsed by the ControlUp Agent on each machine, then stored by the Monitor in GlobalRegistrationFailureEvents.
Incident‑level metrics: Stored in RegistrationFailureIncidents, capturing context, timelines, reason codes, and resolution duration.
Correlation fields: Delivery Group, Machine Catalog, Site, VDA/DDC versions, network identifiers, and full event payloads.
Getting Started
Enable the Citrix Incident Manager role for at least one ControlUp Monitor in your cluster/site.
Verify above prerequisites.
Define triggers and actions:
Create filters on Deregistration Reason, Catalog, Group, or Site.
Configure emails, webhooks, scripts, or event log entries.
Validate data flow:
Check Registration Failure Events, Registration Failures, or Connection Failures tab.
Test a remediation script and review resolution duration metrics.
