The Overview page provides a high-level visual summary of the usage and performance across all applications with the following widgets:

  • Average App Group Score: The average score across all monitored App Groups. Learn more about scoring.
  • App Groups: The total count of App Groups used.
  • Active Employees: The number of unique employees who have engaged with the monitored App Groups during the selected timeframe.
  • Unhealthy App Groups: The number of App Groups with a poor or fair score (7 or below). Learn more about scoring.
  • Discovered Apps: A discovered app is a URL that isn't part of a monitored App Group, but ControlUp has detected your employees using it. For these apps, only usage metrics are available (the number of visits and time spent on the page). For detailed performance metrics, you must add the URL to a monitored App Group. Usage tracking for discovered apps must be enabled in your setting.
  • Unused License Cost: The total spend on unusued licensed across all App Groups in the last 30 days. Read License Reclamation for details.
  • Apps By Lowest Score: Displays a prioritized list of App Groups ranked by their score. Use this widget to quickly identify which applications are underperforming and require troubleshooting. Learn more about scoring.
  • Discovered Apps by Employee Count: Displays the most used discovered apps. A discovered app is a URL that isn't part of a monitored App Group, but ControlUp has detected your employees using it.
  • App Groups by Usage Hours: Displays the total amount of time employees spend using each App Group.
  • License Utilization / Potential Savings: Displays the percentage of licenses used per app group during the last 30 days, and the cost associated with the unused licenses. Read License Reclamation for details.

Dashboard controls

The following controls are available at the top of the page:

  • Date Range: Use the selector in the top right to adjust the reporting period.
  • Filters: Apply granular filters to view data by specific departments, browser, etc.
  • Auto refresh: Toggle auto-refresh on or off.

Note that the Unused License Cost and License Utilization / Potential Savings widgets are not affected by the currently selected date range or filters.

Create synthetic tests for your App Groups

We've integrated ControlUp for Applications with Synthetic Monitoring to let you easily create HTTP/S Scout for all your monitored App Groups in just a few clicks. You can get alerted when an app is down or slow so you can start working on a solution before your employees experience problems.

To get started, click Create Synthetic Tests at the top-right corner of the dashboard.
