By default, Horizon UAG Scouts run tests using the web client. This article describes how to configure the Scout to run the test using the Omnissa Horizon Client.
Prerequisites
- Requires Custom Hive version 1245 or higher.
- Omnissa Horizon Client must already be installed on the machine before the Custom Hive installation and configuration is performed.
- The machine running the Scout must have its screen unlocked. Omnissa Horizon Client requires an unlocked session. Tip: If the physical machine must be locked, then it's possible to run the Scout from a Custom Hive on a VM with an unlocked screen.
1 - Set Custom Hive service to run as "This account"
The Custom Hive service must be configured to run as a specific account ("This account"), rather than a local system or network service. We recommend that you use a service account for this. There are a few ways to do this:
- In services.msc, right-click the Custom Hive service and go to Properties > Log On > This account and enter the account credentials.
- In the Custom Hive Advanced configuration tab, select Run service as "This account". When you save the configuration, you are prompted to enter the account credentials. Note that if you use this method, the credentials are not saved and must be entered again if the Hive service is reinstalled.
2 - Enable SSO login (if applicable)
For SSO login only
This step is required only if Omnissa Horizon Client is configured to perform an SSO login.
- In the Custom Hive Advanced configuration tab, select Omnissa Horizon Client SSO Login.
- Save the configuration. A dedicated Chromium browser is installed.
- Follow the prompt to set the Chromium browser as the default browser.
3 - Set up the Scout in ControlUp
When configuring the Horizon Connection Server / UAG Scout in ControlUp:
- Set the Scout to run from the Custom Hive that you configured according to the steps above. The parameters in the next step appear only if you select a supported Hive version (1245 and higher).
- Under Additional parameters:
- Set Use native client to Yes.
- If your Horizon client redirect you to a browser to perform an SSO login, set SSO Login to Yes.
You can configure the remaining Scout settings as usual.
