ControlUp for Desktops
Improved Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) for the ServiceNow Integration: We’ve updated our ServiceNow integration permissions to let you separately control who can configure the integration's settings and who can use the integration's features in ControlUp. This change lets you limit who has permission to configure the integration to a smaller number of administrators, while letting a broader group of users (such as your support team) use the integration's features. Previously, a single permission covered both functions. Here are the new permissions:
View and Configure ServiceNow Incidents (new permission): lets you see ServiceNow widgets in ControlUp and configure Alerts using the ServiceNow integration. It does not allow you to configure the ServiceNow connector.
Configure ServiceNow Connector (updated permission): This permission now lets you configure the connection between ControlUp and your ServiceNow instance.
If you use custom roles, the new `View and Configure ServiceNow Incidents` permission is not automatically assigned. Please update your custom roles as needed to grant your users the correct access. The new permission is located under Device Permissions > Configuration.
Sustainability and carbon footprint reporting: We've partnered with Px3 to provide comprehensive sustainability and carbon footprint reporting for your organization. This new report is available if you have a ControlUp ONE platform license. The report gives you information like:
Total carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.
Greenhouse gas emissions broken down into scope 2 emissions (which come from electricity consumption) and scope 3 emissions (which come from the computer supply chain including production, distribution, and end-of-life services).
Annual electricity consumption and the associated cost.
Potential e-waste based on your asset inventory.
Enrich browser extension 2.0.10 released:
Enrich can now identify a user on a page by UPN or display name, and let you view all devices used by that user. To enable user detection, go to the Enrich settings page in app.controlup.com. Learn more.
When viewing a device in Enrich, you can now see how the device was identified on the page (by device name, serial number, UPN, or display name).
Filtering by device tags on the Employees dashboards wasn’t working correctly.
Some navigation links and drilldowns in the Devices view were going to the wrong location. These are now fixed.
Windows Agent version 2.17.5 (released August 24 - 2.17.5.6846)
Agent release notes revised on August 27 with additional fixes
Features
Improved BSOD data collection: We’ve improved BSOD data collection in the following areas to help you troubleshoot more effectively:
More accurate driver detection: The Agent now more reliably identifies the specific driver that caused the BSOD.
Loaded modules analysis: In addition to the at-fault driver, the Agent now records the loaded modules at the time of the crash (located in the loaded_modules field of the power_events data index). This new information can help you find the true root cause of the BSOD, especially when the at-fault driver is too generic.
Customizable Agent performance thresholds: The following Agent settings are now customizable in the Extended Settings page:
CPU Idle Threshold: A device’s CPU is considered to be idle if it is below the set CPU usage percentage threshold. This affects the Run only when idle option for scripts.
Process Monitoring Threshold % (CPU): Sets the CPU usage threshold for a process to be named in the CPU Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
Process Monitoring Threshold % (Memory): Sets the Memory usage threshold for a process to be named in the Memory Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
Remote Control security improvements.
Fixes
Employee Sentiment surveys targeted to AD user groups were not being delivered to all users in the group.
Custom device locations weren’t immediately applied. Now, devices will appear at the custom location within a few minutes.
Fixed an issue causing high CPU consumption by the Agent.
Wi-Fi information such as SSID, signal strength, and frequency, were not always recorded.
Fixed an issue with UPN detection.
The `platform` field (for OS platform) was not recorded correctly in multiple data indexes.
Process IDs in Event Log entries were not recorded correctly.
Some application hangs were missing from the win_event_log data index.
Fixed an issue causing details about processes with no friendly name to not be recorded and displayed correctly in widgets. If a process has no friendly name, the name now defaults to the executable name instead.
Fixed an issue causing device battery health to always show 100%.
For a device’s network usage, downloaded data was recorded as sent, and uploaded data was recorded as received. This is now fixed to record the correct direction of data transfer.
Fixed an issue causing process details to be missing from recorded app crashes.
Some foreground app crashes were misidentified as windowed app crashes
macOS Agent version 2.17.5 (released August 10 - 2.17.5.2942)
Features
The following Agent settings are now customizable in the Extended Settings page:
CPU Idle Threshold - A device’s CPU is considered to be idle if it is below the set CPU usage percentage threshold. This affects the Run only when idle option for scripts.
Process Monitoring Threshold % (CPU) - Sets the CPU usage threshold for a process to be named in the CPU Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
Process Monitoring Threshold % (Memory) - Sets the Memory usage threshold for a process to be named in the Memory Usage chart when viewing details for a device. These processes are in the _highresourceprocs data index.
The Agent can now use Wi-Fi information to determine a device’s location.
Remote Control security improvements.
Support for macOS 26.
Fixes
Fixed an issue causing Agent installations to fail.
The ‘Run Command’ action wasn’t working when running a command as a logged in user.
Improved UPN detection reliability.
Improved Remote Control reliability.
Known issues
When you uninstall the Agent, the network filter for monitoring UCC call metrics and network bytes per process is still enabled.
Some external monitor serial numbers aren’t recorded correctly.
If you upgrade the Agent during an active Microsoft Teams call, the Agent doesn't resume collecting data for that call. Call data collection will resume normally on the next Teams call.
ControlUp for Apps
When you drill down into the Problem areas widget to see which employees were affected by the incident, you can now see which device was used. Learn more.
Synthetic Monitoring
Suppress subsequent alert notifications: You can now choose to suppress subsequent notifications after an alert is triggered. You’ll still receive an alert when the issue is resolved.
Fixes
Citrix:
Improved the authentication process.
Enhanced resource enumeration and connection.
VMware Security server
Improved the authentication process.
Custom Hive 1234

ControlUp for VDI
For 9.1.5 version, see Latest Real-Time DX Version. For the latest GA and lower versions, see Real-Time Versions..
Workflows
Improved debugging: Debugging failed flows is now faster and more intuitive. A new color-coded visualization highlights failed steps in your flow. You can click the Jump to first failed step button to go straight to the issue with detailed error info.
For flows with loops, you can now inspect inputs and results for each iteration to better understand what went wrong.
Quick Actions: We’ve added new quick actions to the Flows page to make building and sharing workflows easier. You can now:
Clone workflow
Export workflow
You can also now create a new flow by clicking Import a flow, to quickly share and reuse flows across your organization.
Variables Usage Enhancements: Using variables in your flows is now simpler. You can still type variables manually, but now you can also select from a list - making it easier to insert and manage variables exactly where you need them.
VDI data integration: Workflows now integrates with ControlUp for VDI, enabling you to query VDI data directly within your flows. Use this integration to automate reporting, trigger actions from past performance metrics, and build smarter VDI-based automations.
Microsoft Entra ID integrations: Enhanced to provide more comprehensive user management capabilities.
New Get User action retrieves specific user details.
Both the List Users and new Get User actions now return all parameters of the Entra ID user object, including previously unavailable fields like Department.
Expanded String Manipulations: Expanded String Manipulation actions give you greater control over text processing within your workflows. The new capabilities include:
Replace substring allowing you to find and replace text within strings.
Split string enables you to break down strings into segments based on a delimiter.
Combine (join) strings lets you merge multiple strings into one.
These additions provide more versatile options for transforming and preparing data for subsequent actions.
